Digidesign Acquires Bomb Factory Plugins and Brand Name

27 DSP-based effects to be deployed across Pro Tools product line By Dave Nagel
Digidesign has acquired the digital assets of Bomb Factory, the maker of several plugins for Pro Tools systems. The company has also acquired the Bomb Factory brand name, the the Bomb Factory Recording Studios division is not part of the deal.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not published, but Digidesign has purchased all 27 of Bomb Factory's real-time, DSP-based plugins. The plugins emulate the look and sound of vintage studio processors and include Classic COmpressors, Cosmonaut VOice, Fairchild 660 and 670, Moogerfooger analog effects, Pultec equalizers, SansAmp PSA-1, Tel-Ray and others. Bo,mb Factory says it's retaining the rights to some three dozen products currently under development.

Digidesign has not provided specifics for its plans for the Bomb Factory products but says it expects to announce plans for deploying the plugins across the Pro Tools product line "in the near future." For more information, visit
