Dekes Techniques: The ChallengeCall for Entries!(July 17, 2012)

Today, the ultimate quest for talent begins with dekeOnlines launch of Dekes Techniques: The Challenge, a unique competition to identify the best training videos in each of three independent contests. Over the course of six weeks, contestants will create movies documenting exciting techniques on the topics of computer graphics and digital imaging. Contestants will compete for a treasure trove of software, gear, and coveted subscriptions. Ten winners will be selected, including seven finalists and three Grand Prize winners, one for each category. Among other prizes, each Grand Prize winner will receive the full Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium package from Adobe. In total, the prize packages are valued at over $25,000.
In the last 18 months, Deke McClelland has created over 150 Photoshop and Illustrator videos for Dekes Techniques, his popular weekly video series on lynda.com. Now hes challenging students, educators, and professionals to create their own unique techniques for any of three contests: The Photoshop Challenge, The Illustrator Challenge, and Anything Goes, in which contestants can submit techniques using any software they like.

What and when: Each contestant is invited to create a training video documenting an original artistic technique inspired by at least three episodes of Dekes Techniques. A contestant may submit one video up to 10 minutes long per contest. Each contest lasts two weeks or 101 entries, whichever comes first.
