DeckLink 4.0 Supports Final Cut Pro 4Free update adds RT Extreme, multichannel audio support to DeckLink capture boards
The DeckLink line of capture boards includes support for 10- and 8-bit capture and playback and features digital SMPTE-259 10-bit input and output, separate SDI video and S/PDIF audio monitor connections, internal SDI video synch generation, a DV bridge for editing and outputting DV-formatted video, deck control through an RS-422-compatible port and support for an extended desktop so that windows from any application can be played through a studio monitor.
DeckLink software offers real-time color correction, dissolves and effects. It supports NTSC and PAL and includes a 64-bit RGB codec, as well as support for AJA, Pinnacle and Digital Voodoo codecs. In supported applications, it offers native YUV rendering, and it includes a universal Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows codec. The new 4.0 version adds support for new features in Final Cut Pro 4, including RT Extreme and multichannel audio for output of up to eight simultaneous channels of audio.
Other features include desktop output to an NTSC display for applications like Adobe Photoshop; support for 16-bit rendering in After Effects; support for Discreet Combustion quick capture; and real-time RAM previews.
