DVS and ARRI Provide Digital Dailies Workflow SolutionDI workstation CLIPSTER thereupon creates high-definition SD and HD dailies required for offline editing (March 29, 2006)
Ideally, the user handles color consistent images of high-resolution scans and digital dailies: editing, color correction and visual effects in the same color space and geometry. An especially userfriendly environment is given when all metadata accompany the (post)production from start to end and are provided for the dailies. This can result in using high-quality dailies directly for TV productions, all of which is provided by the new workflow.
Harald Brendel, Head of Application Engineering at ARRI: ?Partnering DVS supplements our product line ARRISCAN and ARRILASER. We can now provide a favourable system for creating, conforming and finishing digital dailies up to creating a final film master. Bernhard Reitz, Head of Product Management at DVS: ?Integrating the ARRI color management in CLIPSTER has proved to be very successful in 2005. Our partnership will now result in a highend digital dailies system.
The benefits emerging from this partnership and a complete digital dailies workflow will be shown at the ARRI booth C6926 at NAB 2006. DVS with headquarters in Hanover, Germany and Los Angeles, USA has achieved sustained success in 2005: CLIPSTERŪ won the prestigious Digital Cinematography Award.
In addition to its cooperation with Hollywood film studios DVS teamed up with companies such as The Mill, Midnight Transfer, Sony, Kodak and Bang & Olufsen. ARRI, Arnold Richter Cine Technik GmbH & Co Betriebs KG, was founded in 1917 in Munich.
