DVC Introduces ScreenDisk CV for Video Research Community

Video Analysis System with ClearView software designed for video research professionals (May 18, 2005)

In cooperation with Video Clarity, DVC is proud to introduce ScreenDisk CV for the European video research community. The ScreenDisk CV Video Analysis System provides video researchers, software compression developers and video hardware designers with the unique ability to capture, output and interactively analyze 100% uncompressed analog and digital video. ScreenDisk CV allows the viewing of multiple video sequences on the same video display. Pan, Zoom, Jog/Shuttle video sequences Side-by-Side, Over-Under, Mirror and A-B; to name a few of the available viewing modes.

View your compression algorithm, circuit emulation or hardware prototype output - side by side with its source material - and see exactly how well your processing performs. ScreenDisk CV also acts as an uncompressed source of analog and digital video to feed your design.

Virtually all video industry standards are supported. From Analog VGA to HD-SDI and DVI. From Q4/05 Parallel Digital Video is supported for connection to hardware emulation systems and prototype designs.

Built on top of an Intel P4 XEON and Windows XP Pro (Windows XP 64 upon release). Video sequences are unpacked/decompressed and loaded into ScreenDisk controlled memory where multiple sequences may be streamed and operated on in realtime. This unique approach to viewing multi-stream, high-resolution video ensures that no frames are dropped and no quality is lost when displaying the results of your video processing. ScreenDisk CV covers all of your laboratory needs for ingest, output and visual comparison for any of today's industry standard video interfaces and media file types.

You can also use ScreenDisk CV to present the results of your work for internal, customer and trade-show presentations.

At the end of the day, what really matters is how does your video look like to the human eye. ScreenDisk CV has been specifically designed to aid in the all too difficult process of visual assessment.

During this year's NAB Video Clarity and DVC signed a European wide distribution agreement that allows DVC to integrate and supply Video Clarity's ClearView Video Analysis Software. Video Clarity was founded in January 2003, and develops software and hardware specifically for video research. Most of the Video Clarity employees come from Viewgraphics, one of the world´s leading manufacturers of the Viewstore Image Sequence Processor during the 1990's. With more than 20 years of experience, the Video Clarity team is committed to provide the video research community with unprecedented tools for visual analysis.

As a result of this cooperation with Video Clarity, DVC is proud to introduce Screendisk CV for the European video research community. ScreenDisk CV is a well-priced and flexible substitute for the numerously installed DVS ISP- and VTE-Image Sequence Processor within Europe.
