DV Expo Moves to Los Angeles Convention Center(September 08, 2001)
DV Expo delivers practical how-to information and next-generation, media-rich solutions. "The show has had a tremendous following and has doubled in size almost every year since its inception," says CMP Media's DV Media Group Director and Publisher Scott Gentry. "DV Expo is the ultimate meeting place for digital video professionals," Gentry adds.
DV Expo offers digital video professionals an interactive forum to share their knowledge and expertise. "For five days in December, attendees interact and debate, learn practical tips and tricks, and receive constructive advice on moving their businesses forward," says CMP Media's DV Media Group Editorial Director Dominic Milano.
DV Expo 2001 commences on December 3 with three full-day intensives on motion graphics, 3D character design and development, and lighting. Led by renowned industry experts, these intensive sessions provide a detailed look into today's digital video hot topics. As the conference continues on December 4 through December 7, DV Expo 2001 will present more than 80 sessions on the latest advancements revolutionizing digital video, 3D, and Web video.
DV Expo 2001 will host nearly 100 companies that market the most innovative business solutions involved in the acquisition, manipulation, and delivery of compelling visual content. These companies represent product and service categories from editing software, DV turnkey systems, and acquisition solutions to accessories, lighting, and streaming and interactive media. Beyond the show floor, event sponsors Pinnacle Systems and Sony Corporation plan to present technical sessions on Professional Video Editing and DVD Authoring and DVCAM Dynamics: Key Features for Professional Applications.
DV Expo 2001 will stage several special events open to all attendees. Allen Daviau -- renowned director of photography for films including "Empire of the Sun," "Fearless," "Avalon," and "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial" -- will deliver a keynote address December 5 entitled, "Storytelling: Choices and Challenges with Evolving Technologies." On December 3 and 4, the DV Film Fest will present independent film shorts from professional studios as well as exemplary works from aspiring filmmakers. Various industry association meetings have been planned by organizations including the Media Communications Association - International and Motion Graphics Los Angeles.
