D-Link Intros $49 Router

Broadband switch/DCP server includes four 10/100 ports By Dave Nagel
D-Link today introduced its new DI-604 Express EtherNetwork Cable/DSL Router. The new device is a 10/100 Ethernet router and autonegotiating switch featuring four ports and firewall capabilities. It's available for $49.

The router is powered by a 32-bit RISC processor with 8 MB of RAM. It offers a Web-based graphical user interface annd a setup wizard for installation. Other features include:

  • Integrated Help Screens
  • Configuration Profiles
  • URL blocking
  • Domain blocking
  • IP address blocking
  • Internal Clock
  • Remote Management Capabilities
  • Media Access Control
  • Virtual Private Network (VPN) passthrough support for multiple simultaneous IPSec, L2TP and PPTP sessions.
  • Stateful Packet Inspection
  • Embedded DHCP Server for up to 253 clients
  • IP Forwarding
  • IP Filtering
  • Dynamic Routing
  • DMZ Hosting.
