SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/21/12 -- Global gaming company ZeptoLab today announced the release of Cut the Rope in the Chrome Web Store, allowing fans all over the world to play the smash-hit game directly in their browser by downloading from the Google's Chrome Web Store absolutely free. The game features enhanced high-resolution artwork and game mechanics that have been optimized for computer desktop gameplay and now for play through Google Chrome.
Cut the Rope has achieved phenomenal success worldwide, with well over 100 million downloads on mobile phones and tablet devices. The game, as well as its sequel, Cut the Rope: Experiments, are both mainstays at the top of Google Play's sales and download charts.
Earlier this year, ZeptoLab launched the MacOS version of the game, equipped with new landscape screen orientation and artwork that retains its striking, crisp images on monitors up to 2560x1400 resolution. In addition to the resolution improvements, ZeptoLab also adjusted some of Cut the Rope's original levels to incorporate longer reaction time and use of a mouse or trackpad, giving players the opportunity to develop new rope-cutting strategies with the click (or click-and-drag) of a mouse. Now, more desktop players can experience this new way to play the addictive, physics-based game on a bigger screen.
