Creo Intros Leaf Valeo 22 Camera Back

New model offers 22 megapixel resolution By Dave Nagel
Creo today announced its new Leaf Valeo 22, a digital camera back for studio photographers. The new model offers a 22 megapixel resolution an is expected to ship commercially in September.

The Leaf Valeo 22 is designed for medium- and large-format photography, capturing images at 4,056 x 5,356 with a 22 megapixel CCD. It captures in the Raw format at 16 bits per channel and offers a live video view, electronic shutter control and an eight-frame burst. Other features include:

  • A detachable 6 cm x 7 cm display;
  • 16-bit Leaf High Dynamic Range (HDR) raw data format;
  • Leaf double-sensor readout (DSR) technology;
  • 512 MB internal memory buffer;
  • Portable option with a removable 5 GB or 10 GB Leaf Digital Magazine.

The Leaf Valeo 22 will support existing Leaf workflows, including the Leaf Capture V8 for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X and Leaf oXYgen for Mac OS 9.

Pricing has not yet been announced for the Leaf Valeo 22, but Creo says it will offer an upgrade path for users of the Leaf Valeo 11. For more information, visit
