Cravings Come First -- CityEats Debuts iPhone App Making Restaurant Reservations Visual and Local

Powered by Food Network, the CityEats iPhone App Tracks Your Location to Show You Pictures of Dishes and Restaurants Near You (June 21, 2012)

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 06/21/12 -- CityEats, a new destination for diners to discover and book the best restaurants in town, announced today the debut of their iPhone app in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, PA. The CityEats iPhone app is now available to download for free in the iPhone App Store http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cityeats/id535678303?mt=8.

Making restaurant reservations has never been easier (or more fun). The app uses the iPhone's GPS to pinpoint a user's physical location so they can be shown a visual sample of signature dishes from nearby restaurants. Giving any diner a taste of what's to come before they even walk through the door. Because you are where you eat.

Here's how the app works:

  • Visually choose any of the dishes that inspire you to eat! You'll see information about the dish and the restaurant, including full menus, location details, diner reviews as well as highlights and must-try dishes and drinks from CityEats editors. Just select your date, time and party size, and a table is all yours in one tap.
  • Browse restaurants by proximity. Just slide the arrow next to the CityEats logo and select from a complete list of restaurants near you, whether in a list or map.
  • Manage upcoming reservations and see your diner history if you sign-up for a free CityEats account.
  • Earn CityEats Rewards points every time you eat - and keep tabs on your status as you earn badges and benefits.

"We know a lot of diners make decisions about where to eat while they're on the go. What better way to entice them, then by showing a visually beautiful representation of the food they could eat at that very moment," said Sameer Deen, President of CityEats. "The CityEats iPhone app is like having a seat at the table before even walking through the door."
