Cox Promises Uninterrupted Service During [email protected] Bankruptcy[email protected] to be bought by AT&T [email protected]'s bankruptcy filing has left a large portion of broadband customers with some doubts as to the future of their service. [email protected] provides broadband access to cable customers through a number of cable systems, including Cox Communications. [email protected] says it will be bought out by AT&T and that the filing occurred in order to ensure continued operation during the transition.
In response to the filing, Cox Communications released its own statement, essentially promising uninterrupted service through the bankruptcy and buyout.
"Cox Communications regrets that [email protected], its high speed Internet service partner, has experienced financial difficulties that have forced it to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection," said a Cox statement released today. "While this news is disappointing, Cox anticipates that this measure will allow [email protected] to continue business operations while reorganizing into a stronger, better performing entity."
"We welcome the operating strength of AT&T," said Dallas Clement, Cox's Senior Vice President, Strategy and Development, in the same statement. "Our customers are our top priority, and we are confident that together, Cox, [email protected] and AT&T will ensure the high-quality uninterrupted high speed Internet service that our [email protected] subscribers expect and enjoy."
