Copyright Criminals

Its a tough topic amoung any sort of creative professionals. A topic bound to bring forth well springs of emotion and vehment assertions. Before I even begin I need to make clear I am not, with this post at least, asserting any position other than observation.... And my obervation is this...

The dilema of the digital age is that the tools and the technology that our art and craft is built on - the binary digital code and the giant over grown calculators that shuffle those zeros and ones around - is designed to do oen thing and one thin only... Copy. Replicate. Reproduce. Everything else we do with these tools and this technology is a simple manifistation of that - exact and efficient duplication.



So.... Invaribly we have a dilema. We have handed society the most awesome and amazing duplicating machine the world could ever concieve, encourgaed the entire populous to go forth and create with that duplicating machine and then tried to make our existing copyright laws, and industrial revolution dervived concepts of cultural ownership, to apply in that world...!
