WEATHERFORD, Texas (AP) ' Authorities searching for a missing North Texas woman found her 100 miles away at her ex-neighbor's house ' frail and covered in bruises.
After they arrested Jeffrey Allan Maxwell, they searched his house and say they found whips, bloodstained sheets, handcuffs and a chain attached to a bed.
Investigators say the woman had been tortured since her abduction 12 days earlier from her rural Parker County home last March.
Some investigators testified Tuesday as prosecutors began presenting evidence at Maxwell's trial. He faces up to life in prison if convicted of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault.

Defense attorneys have questioned whether proper search warrants were obtained before authorities took photographs and collected evidence at Maxwell's house.
