Control Break International Acquires Polytrust

New CBI office opened in Stockholm, Sweden (September 03, 2004)

Control Break International (CBI), a leading provider of enterprise data security solutions including SafeBoot, announced today that it has purchased Sweden-based Polytrust, developer of the C4 solution for file and folder encryption.

Polytrust and CBI partnered successfully earlier this year to develop an integrated product combining SafeBoot's PC and laptop security solutions with Polytrust's content protection technology. The exceptional fit between the two companies brought about CBI's successful bid to purchase Polytrust.

"Poytrust's technology is a perfect complement to CBI's suite of SafeBoot security solutions," said Paul Grootaers, Chief Executive Officer at CBI. "We are also pleased to open the Stockholm office of CBI, which will allow us to maintain our position as the market leader for security solutions and to meet the increasing demand for SafeBoot in the Swedish market."

According to Gerhard Watzinger, Chief Operating Officer at CBI, the company expects to launch the integrated solution for file encryption, SafeBoot Content Encryption, later this month. This centrally managed solution will allow IT administrators to specify file types and folders to be encrypted. The files remain encrypted wherever they are saved, including to memory sticks, CDs and DVDs.

Control Break International's SafeBoot suite of enterprise-wide security solutions protects data stored on mobile devices such as tablet PCs, laptops and PDAs against the risk of loss, theft and unauthorized access anytime and anywhere. SafeBoot offers strong two-factor pre-boot access control and powerful FIPS-certified encryption technologies with a centralized management system. The solution protects data worldwide at multi-national corporations and major government agencies. SafeBoot has achieved twelve consecutive 5-star ratings by SC Magazine as well as the SC Magazine 2004 Reader Trust Award for Best Encryption Product.
