Concrete Pictures Kicks Off Rose Bowl With Keith JacksonLegendary broadcaster highlights 2005 college football season in new ABC spot (December 27, 2005)
Kicking off Januarys highly-anticipated Rose Bowl, ABC Sports has tapped Concrete Pictures to produce the open for the Bowl Championship Series (BCS), National Championship game between University of Southern California and the University of Texas. The minute-forty second spot, helmed by Tripp Dixon, will feature famed college football broadcaster, Keith Jackson guiding fans through the thrilling tale of the 2005 college football season.
To create the guided tour broadcaster Keith Jackson was filmed on green screen and then placed into key moments from the 2005 season. Props and extras were utilized to further embed him within environments that were drawn both from existing season footage as well as plates that were shot specifically for the project at the USC/UCLA game earlier in December. The complex tracking shots mixed high-definition and standard-definition formats using programs like Maya, Boujou and Shake. Concretes use of complex desktop-based technology and its extensive work in high definition allows Jackson to take fans on a tour through the entire season, ending with his live arrival at the Rose Bowl itself.
With two undefeated teams battling for the national college football championship, the January 4th Rose Bowl is expected to be one of the highest watched college football games in history. Strong seasons by the Southern Californias Trojans and Texas Longhorns have fostered intense excitement. The Trojans are looking to become the first school to win three consecutive national titles based on the Associated Press rankings.
Commented Concrete Pictures Supervising Producer and USC alumnus, Wade Echer, ?Im thrilled to work on such a high-profile project, and excited to get to work on a project that involves my alma mater.
The BCS Rose Bowl game will be broadcast exclusively on ABC and on ESPN Radio January 4, 2006 at 8pm EST.
