Compix CynerG2 Enables Quail Springs Baptist Church to Enhance Worship Graphics Live and Online

Compix Character Generator Brings Attractive, Affordable Graphics to Video Presentation During Live Services (September 28, 2010)
DMN Newswire--2010-9-28--Compix, a leading developer of professional character generators (CGs), today announced that Quail Springs Baptist Church in Oklahoma City has installed a Compix CynerG2 CG to enhance the quality of its video presentations. Implemented as part of the church's digital upgrade, the Compix system provides A/V staff with a straightforward means of adding sophisticated graphics and information to live video presentations and worship webcasts.

"With the Compix CG, I'm able to get a very sophisticated look," said Rick Hardin, director of media and technology at Quail Springs Baptist Church. "We've been able to add more professional elements, such as lower thirds, and to incorporate graphics and information using just a few key pieces of equipment. Enhanced by the new combination of the CynerG2 and Adobe(R) Photoshop(R), our graphics capabilities seem endless."

The CynerG2 from Compix is a dual-channel SD/HD standalone broadcast graphics system that meets the complete needs of real-time production. The system's GenCG software offers a robust collection of backgrounds, elements, templates, fonts, and images, which Hardin complements with his own static graphics and logos. During the worship service, staff members at Quail Springs Baptist Church use the Compix CG to add graphics to video on two large screens in the auditorium and send the same content to eight LCD monitors located in the hall.

An intuitive GUI and WSIWYG layout combined with icon-based drag-and-drop tools make the operation of the CynerG2 CG simple. The Compix system is so easy to use that once the appropriate elements are set up, volunteers can walk in on a Sunday morning, turn on the A/V equipment, and go to work. Following worship services, Hardin uses the CG's graphics creation capabilities to add informative lower thirds to the worship video, which is then captured and edited on Final Cut Pro(R) for online delivery as a webcast.

"The CynerG2 is a compact yet powerful CG system that allows houses of worship to make a dramatic jump in presentation quality through a relatively modest investment in equipment," said Veronica Kim, president of Compix. "As Quail Springs continues to extend its A/V capabilities, the church's CG will support a smooth and cost-effective migration to HD."
