Companies Ventures Into Wireless Telecom Industry Increase Cell Tower Lease Value(July 20, 2012)
(PRWEB) July 20, 2012
Wireless technology is growing at a rapid pace, as is the need for cell towers facilitating wireless connectivity, and companies looking to capitalize on this are taking note. CTI Towers Inc., formed by Comcast Corporations venture capital affiliate, Comcast Ventures in September of 2011, recently complete its first cell tower construction. CTI Towers owns and manages over 750 towerstowers previously owned by Comcast Corporationin 39 states. These towers are being leased to companies like AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile.
Another company that has indicated a possible move into the wireless telecom realm as a direct wireless provider is Apple. With all components in placea digital content portfolio, customer base, over 250 million credit cards on file, and a patent pending network architectureexperts and analysts believe Apple will soon offer wireless service directly to iPhone and iPad users.
Company ventures into the wireless telecom industry combined with established tower developer and telecom company efforts to keep up with national wireless demand, indicates that property owners leased land for telecom purposes is more valuable than ever before. Although there is an increase in wireless demand and in companies stake in the wireless telecom and tower development industries, the value property owners land remains extremely undervalued. Unaware of this disparity, property owners are often times paid less than 10 percent of revenues generated from telecom equipment on their private properties.
Wireless providers rely on property owners lack of information in order to perpetuate this disparity between themselves and these landowners. Until now, there has not been an advocate fighting for these property owners rights to fair value for their cell tower leases.
Vertical Consultants, a telecom consulting firm, successfully demands fair treatment for property owners engaged in telecom leases and those looking to enter into one. Vertical Consultants experience in the telecom industry has allowed successful recoupments and cell tower rent increases from the largest telecoms and towerdevelopers in the world, with total dollar amounts in the millions over the life of these telecom leases.
Hugh Odom, President of Vertical Consultants states, Property owners throughout North America are in a better position today than ever before when it comes to negotiating terms for the use of their property due the expanding need for varying types of sites for the placement of wireless equipment. However, most property owners lack information and experienced representation they need to optimize these opportunities and that is where Vertical Consultants can be of benefit. The true value of the wireless industry is not in the air but on the ground.
