Commotion Pro for OS X Due This MonthNew version gains integration with Final Cut Pro 2 and 3
According to Pinnacle, Commotion Pro 4.1 "provides users of Final Cut Pro 2.0.2 and later with the ability to export a sequence from Final Cut Pro to Commotion Pro in just one step. A user can now edit their clips in Final Cut Pro and then send the project directly into Commotion Pro 4.1, which will automatically interpret the sequence. Unlike other applications that require the user to save their Final Cut Pro projects as QuickTime media to move between programs, Commotion Pro 4.1 enables the user to begin compositing immediately without having to recreate their edit decisions in Commotion Pro."
On the OS X side, it takes advantage of the Aqua interface and also provides a "fully threaded multitasking platform."
Commotion Pro 4.1 and Commotion 4.1 are free, downloadable software updaters and will be available in late December for all existing Commotion Pro 4, Commotion 4, CineWave and TARGA 3000 customers. CineWave drivers currently only support Mac OS 9. For more information, visit http://www.pinnaclesys.com.
