ColorTheory 1.2 Ships

New version of color wheel updates carbonization, After Effects Support By Dave Nagel
Toolfarm.com has started shipping a new version of, ColorTheory and ColorTheory DV. Color theory is a stand-alone application and Adobe Photoshop plugin that operates as a digital color wheel to find complementary or harmonious color combinations. The formulas are based on the studies of Bauhaus professor Johannes Itten and utilize the RYB color model. Using the RYB model, ColorTheory's formulas include all of Itten's traditional formulas, as well as primary, secondary, tertiary, pastel, neutral and discord (clash) schemes. ColorTheory enables designers to analyze hundreds of color schemes while working with existing logos and artwork.

ColorTheory 1.2 includes updated carbonized support for the final shipping version of Mac OS X. ColorTheory DV 1.2 has an updated Adobe After Effects plugin, which also works in Apples Final Cut Pro, Pinnacle Commotion, Discreet's Combustion and Avid Media Composer when used with the Elastic Gasket. ColorTheory DV 1.2 also includes six new Adobe After Effects plugins; CT ColorCorrect, CT ColorSwatch, CT Location, CT Dial, CT Slider and CT Checkbox.

CT ColorCorrect is an HLS color corrector that uses Red, Yellow and Blue primaries to control the Hue. ColorSwatch lets AE 5 users link color schemes to Expressions for global control of color. The other plugins contain null effect parameters so AE5 users can tie expressions to parent sliders, dials, location points and checkboxes.

The update is free to existing customers. The ColorTheory 1.2 standalone application and Photoshop plugin sells for $149. ColorTheory DV 1.2 includes a standalone application, the Photoshop plugin and the After Effects plugins with ability to preview on NTSC/PAL monitors. ColorTheory DV sells for $249. Toolfarm.com is offering $50 off for users who purchase before July 31. A demo is also available. Both products are available for the Macintosh. For more information, visit http://www.toolfarm.com.
