Cloud Host AIS Network Claims Three MindShare Grads and CEO Is Newest(December 20, 2011)
Reston, VA (PRWEB) December 20, 2011
AIS Network today announced that CEO Jay Atkinson has graduated from the MindShare Class of 2011, rounding out to three the number of MindShare alumni in the cloud hosting companys executive leadership. AISN Chairman Kurt Baumann and AISN Vice President of Strategic Development Donna Hemmert are alumni of the elite organization.
I am honored to be among the newest MindShare graduates, said Atkinson. The MindShare program offers deeply valuable learning and networking opportunities. Their graduates have led many of the regions top entrepreneurial success stories over the years and raised more than $1.2 billion in venture funding.
The pool of high tech talent within the Greater Washington Metropolitan region is among the best in the world and the MindShare CEOs represent the elite of the elite, said Baumann, who founded the first commercial ISP in Japan and also launched InterCon Systems, the leading producer of Internet software on the Macintosh.
AIS Network is fortunate that three members of our leadership team are currently engaged in a dynamic group that has been so successful in creating opportunities for building long-term, sustainable companies and fostering a collegial environment in which we can all share ideas.
Since taking the AISN helm in January 2010, Atkinson has overseen the companys technological evolution from managed hosting to cloud hosting for specialized mission-critical business applications such as Microsoft SharePoint and SaaS. Since that time, the company has doubled in size and opened a second office.
MindShare has graduated some of the regions most promising CEOs from emerging and high-growth technology and life sciences companies. Founded in 1997, the elite organization selects 40 to 60 growth companies annually to become part of its network. Each class meets monthly to discuss topics critical to building a successful company. They also have access to more than 550 CEOs who are part of the MindShare alumni network. Past alums include Tim OShaughnessy of LivingSocial (raised over $180M in 2010); Rick Rudman of Vocus (2005 IPO); Hemant Kanakia of Torrent Networking Technologies (acquired by Ericsson for $450M); and Phillip Merrick of webMethods (the most successful software IPO ever).
With network operations centers in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and Chicago, the 18-year-old AISN is recognized as a pioneer in managed hosting.
