ClearOne Introduces Three Educational CamerasNew versions of StudentCam 2.0, TeachCam 2.0 and IDCam 2.0 (August 12, 2004)
ClearOne Communications Inc., a developer, manufacturer and provider of conferencing products, has begun shipping new versions of its three most popular educational cameras: the StudentCam 2.0, TeachCam 2.0 and IDCam 2.0.
The new versions feature upgraded camera modules to deliver better image quality and superior performance in virtually any classroom environment, including challenging low-light situations. Image resolution has been improved to 480 TV lines from 330 TV lines, and pixel count was boosted to 410K from 266K. In addition, ClearOne has reduced the price of each camera by $100.
?These enhancements, combined with the new pricing, enable us to offer our customers a price-to-value ratio that is currently unmatched in the industry, said Zee Hakimoglu, president and chief executive officer of ClearOne.
ClearOnes educational cameras feature simple, straightforward functionality and easy-to-use accessories that let teachers capture and display documents, 3-D objects and video. The cameras also easily attach to a wide variety of peripheral devices, including microscopes to display specimens and experiments in full-color detail; VCRs to record interactive activities; and computers to let students capture, edit and share content on their own.
Suggested North American retail prices are $599 for the StudentCam and IDCam, and $899 for the TeachCam. International pricing may vary.
