Clarity To Provide 40-inch LCD Displays to MercurySunTrust Banks to use displays as part of a digital signage system (September 21, 2004)
Clarity Visual Systems, Inc. announced today an agreement with Seattle-based Mercury Online Solutions, Inc. Under the agreement, Clarity will provide its 40-inch flat panel LCD Bobcat displays to Mercury Online, which will in turn provide them to Atlanta-based SunTrust Banks, Inc. as part of a retail digital signage system.
On its relationship with Mercury Online Solutions, Clarity's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Kris Gorriaran, said: "We are delighted that Mercury chose Clarity's Bobcat product for their clients. As a leader in the digital signage industry, Mercury is committed to delivering meticulous service to the customer. Together, we will help SunTrust realize the full benefits that digital signage promises, and in doing so, help enhance the in-branch experiences of their customers."
"Clarity is an acknowledged leader in quality and choice of displays for retail digital signage," said John Eisenhauer, CEO of Mercury Online Solutions. "Bobcat is a natural fit with our network and the perfect signage product for SunTrust and other financial institutions that we have the opportunity to serve together."
The Clarity Bobcat, introduced late last year, represented the first available 40-inch display based on direct view Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technology, the same technology that powers most laptop computers today. The display has appealed to a growing number of businesses particularly retail banks and credit unions because of its slim profile (sub-4 inches), and the image quality and cost-of-ownership advantages it enjoys over other displays, including plasma units.
