Circle Surround II Comes to M-Audio DevicesSRS technologies in Sonica Theater, Revolution 7.1
Both the Sonica and the Revolution offer 7.1 channels of audio output, as well as DTS and Dobly Digital 5.1/EX and stereo output. With the addition of SRS Labs' Circle Surround II technology, the devices now also multi-channel surround sound from any source, including, mono and stereo audio from audio CDs, MP3s, games and the like. Circle Surround II dynamically separates instruments, vocals and crowd noises for a multichannel surround experience. Sonica and Revolution also include SRS Labs' TruSurround XT mode for emulating surround sound in a stereo setup.
The Revolution 7.1 PCI card offers 7.1 channels of high-definition audio output (24-bit, 192 kHz), recording capabilities (24-bit, 96 kHz), real-time stereo to surround conversion, 107 dB signal to noise and support for DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1. Sonica Theater offers similar specs but in a USB configuration: audio output at 24-bit, 96 kHz; recording at 24-bit, 96 kHz; real-time stereo to surround conversion; 7.1 channels of output; 101 dB signal to noise; and support for DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1. Both also come bundled with $200 worth of software.
