DMN Newswire--2009-4-27--CineForm(r), Inc. (www.cineform.com), creators of high-fidelity compression-based workflow solutions for the post production marketplace, today announced it has swept the coveted NAB 2009 Best of Show Awards by winning both the "2009 TV Technology STAR Award" and the "2009 Vidy Award" for its newly announced Neo3D -- the industry's first 3D editorial workflow solution for Final Cut Pro users.
Now in its tenth year, TV Technology's STAR Award is designed to celebrate and showcase the outstanding technological innovations available to the broadcast industry. A panel of judges consisting of TV Technology editors and columnists reviewed a variety of products, examined the technical applications and their overall contribution to the industry, and then submitted their award nominees.
"Every year, the NAB Show serves as the launching pad for thousands of new products and services for audio and video professionals," said Tom Butts, TV Technology Editor. "Our panel of editors walk the show floor in search of the most innovative technologies. The products and services that we select for the STAR Award make the cutthey demonstrate their ability to help advance the acquisition and distribution of entertainment and information across the media spectrum."
The 2009 Best of Show Vidy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in the advancement of the art and science of video technology. The Videography Vidy Awards is the longest-running NAB awards program. A select panel of engineers, editors and production and post professionals joined the magazine staff to judge the Best of Show awards for Videography.
"Our teams searched the NAB show floor for products that were truly deserving of recognition," says NewBay Media Broadcast & Video Group Vice President & Group Publisher Eric Trabb. "Recognition with an award at NAB from the Broadcast & Video Group is a strong vote of confidence and admiration from this leading publication."
CineForm Neo3D, The Award-Winning Solution for 3D Post Production
CineForm's Neo3D(tm), a significant development in 3D post production workflows, enables Final Cut Pro users to create 3D QuickTime movies that include both Left and Right eyes, and also to edit 3D projects in real time with full frame rate playback to an external 3D monitor. Traditionally, 3D projects are edited in 2D as independent Left and Right eyes, with a final 3D conform after the entire editorial process is complete. CineForm Neo3D simplifies this costly, time-intensive process by enabling the editorial team to experience the 3D story-telling process by viewing in full 3D while editing, including adjustment of convergence (horizontal, vertical, or rotation) plus individual or stereo (3D) eye color correction. This technique allows many projects to eliminate 3D conform entirely and print directly from the Final Cut Pro timeline to electronic 3D distribution or projection files.
CineForm Neo3D made its debut at NAB 2009 last week in Las Vegas. Although Neo3D was announced initially for Mac, it will also be available on Windows within the next two weeks. For more information, please visit www.cineform.com.
