Cimatron and Spatial Partner to Deliver ACIS-Enabled Solutions for the Tooling Industry

Demonstrates advantagesof advanced component technology (January 17, 2002)
Spatial Corp., a market-leading provider of world-class 3D software components, and Cimatron Ltd., a leading developer of CAD/CAM solutions for the tooling industry, today announced the partnership between their two companies.

Cimatron's decision to integrate the 3D ACIS Modeler into their new software solution, Cimatron E, demonstrates the benefits of using advanced component technology. Designed with the tooling industry in mind, Cimatron E efficiently handles every stage of the design and manufacturing process and ultimately reduces tool design time by approximately 50%.

Meeting the challenge of providing a full process solution from data input through to tool design and tool path creation requires an environment based on advanced modeling capabilities. The 3D ACIS Modeler delivers this advanced technology and allows Cimatron to utilize their unique expertise in the development of dedicated systems to focus on their differentiators. Additionally, using ACIS allows Cimatron E to import crucial data from a variety of CAD systems accurately and efficiently.

"Spatial's ACIS component gives Cimatron the tools to handle open models, a function essential to the tooling industry," commented Nadav Katz, executive vice president of marketing, Cimatron. "Spatial's commitment to quality and performance, together with their strong support, are examples of why we value this partnership."

Cimatron's strategic decision to integrate ACIS into Cimatron E confirms that Spatial licensees gain a competitive edge when using the accuracy and complex modeling technology of the 3D ACIS Modeler. ACIS enables extensions of its technologies that allow Cimatron to develop dedicated tools for their target market. "With Spatial we created a hybrid environment that enjoys solid modeling capabilities on one hand and good wire frame functionality on the other," says Katz.

"With the implementation of our quality initiatives and renewed focus on working with our partners, Spatial has strengthened an already solid foundation with Cimatron," said Linda Lokay, executive vice president of sales and marketing, Spatial. "I have no doubt the relationship between Cimatron and Spatial will become even more beneficial for both companies over time, and I applaud their success with Cimatron E."
