Chyron Wins Philo T. Farnsworth Emmy

Wins Primetime Emmy Engineering Award (August 11, 2004)

Chyron Corporation has announced that it has won the Philo T. Farnsworth Corporate Achievement Emmy for the invention and development of the character generator. The award will be given during the Primetime Creative Arts ceremony on Sunday, September 12th at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Now in its 56th year, the Primetime Emmy Engineering Award is given to an individual, company or an organization for developments in engineering that are either so extensive an improvement on existing methods or so innovative in nature that they materially affect the transmission, recording or reception of television.

Chyron CEO Michael Wellesley-Wesley said, “It is truly a tremendous honor for Chyron to be recognized by the Academy with this prestigious award. The invention and ongoing development of the character generator has made a significant contribution to the evolution of the television industry and I can speak for all of Chyron’s employees worldwide when I say that we are extremely gratified and proud to be part of an organization that has made a major impact on our industry.”

For more than three decades, Chyron has been a leading supplier of graphics hardware and software to the television industry. Chyron is still “The Company The Whole World Watches”.
