Chukyo TV In Japan Orders Studer Digital Vista 6Digital broadcast console designed specifically for live on-air use (January 04, 2005)
Studer has received an order from Chukyo TV (CTV) in Japan for a Vista 6 digital broadcast console, designed specifically for live on-air use.
CTV is a major TV broadcast organisation in Nagoya City, and is committed to the development of digital broadcast systems. It has been increasing its output of local programmes, and is commissioning a new A-studio, dedicated exclusively to the live broadcast of local material, which is where the Vista 6 will be installed and used daily.
This is not the first Studer digital console to be purchased by CTV, which is already using a D950M2 in its B-studio production suite, and a Vista 7 in post-production. ?The engineers at CTV understand and are very happy with the Studer consoles, according to Yuichi Ishida of Studer Japan. ?The company was keen to buy another Studer desk because of the operational advantages, enabling the engineers to move easily between studios and operating systems, as well as the practical advantages, such as the exchange of electronics modules between the consoles.
The console, a 30-fader Vista 6 equipped with 80 AES inputs, 36 analogue mic/line and 36 line inputs with 70 AES outputs and 80 analogue line outputs, is due to be installed in A-studio in March 2005.
Based on the revolutionary Vistonics user interface, the Studer Vista 6 digital mixing system offers exceptional visual feedback combined with fast operation, meeting the requirements of any live broadcasting environment. Powerful N-1 functionality, configurable monitoring, signalisation and sophisticated talkback functionality are all included in the Vista 6 package. A fully integrated and extensive routing matrix eliminates the need for an external patch bay or front end router; and of course all recallable at the push of a button.
The design and implementation of the Studer Vista 6 provides a high level of reliability and remarkable resilience in operation. The redundancy concept includes all parts of the Vista 6 system, including the DSP. The DSP core can be equipped with a redundant DSP card that takes over the audio signals in the case a DSP card fails without interruption of audio or operation. Redundant power supplies are also available throughout all parts of the system.
