Christie Digital Appoints Cinema Business Product ManagerPickering has 16 years experience in the international broadcast television industry (December 04, 2001)
Pickering will be responsible for developing Christie's newest line of Digital Cinema projectors. Christie Digital says it was the first OEM licensee of the DLP Cinema technology and has recently sold its Digital Cinema projector to Industrial Light and Magic, LaserPacific Media Corp., Pixar Animation Studios and Vidfilm International Digital.
Mr. Pickering comes to Christie Digital from Cisco Systems/PixStream with 16 years experience in the international broadcast television industry. As part of Cisco Systems/PixStream's product marketing organization, Mr. Pickering was responsible for video networking products and played a key role in defining new products and marketing strategies. Mr. Pickering initiated strategic discussions for Broadband "Video over IP" applications working with clients such as Worldcom, SBC, and Bell Canada.
While serving as product manager for Inscriber Technologies' line of broadcast television products, Mr. Pickering has developed expertise in video production and editing and has worked with customers like CNN, ABC, NBC and Bloomberg Television for their specific requirements. Mr. Pickering managed and marketed Inscriber's innovative product, the High Definition Character Generator for post-production and broadcast television. He is an active member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), Toronto chapter.
