China's Beijing Film Studios orders large Harrison MPC2 Digital Film192 channel Harrison MPC2 Digital Film Dubbing Console to be installed (September 21, 2001)
The multi-operator desk ordered by BFS is a large MPC2 digital film console which will span over eleven feet. The console will be outfitted with 48 layered automated, motorized faders, 8 automated, motorized Remote Faders, 16 layered digital meters, Harrison's proprietary graphic EQ "Toys" panel and Harrison's patented, automated motorized joystick panning system.* The 280 input MPC2 will initially be fitted with 192 full channels of digital processing and 56 channels of PEC/Direct switching.
Outfitted with state-of-the-art facilities, Beijing Film Studio boasts four large-scale studios, one special effects studio, two dialogue recording studios, one music studio and mixing/re-recording studios. Beijing Film Studios produces about 30 feature films and 100 television films per year. Well-known titles produced under the of Beijing Film Studios include Farewell My Concubine, and The Last Emperor, which won nine (9) Academy Awards in 1987 and was co-produced by Beijing Film and renowned Italian filmmaker, Bernardo Bertolucci. These two titles join a long list of more than 100 award-winning films which have been recognized at both domestic and international film festivals since the company was founded in April of 1949.
The largest film studio in Asia, Beijing Film Studios is located in the cultural area of the western suburbs of Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China.
