Celemony Software GmbH Announces Melodyne 2.1Audio recording software for Windows XP and Mac OS 10.3
Via the DXi interface, Sonar users can now use Melodyne, including the ability to edit and modify audio data as effortlessly as if it were MIDI, undertake corrections of pitch, whether subtle or dramatic, derive complex, high-quality harmonies from simple melodies, modify entire phrases and reshape audio recordings creatively.
The quality of the pitch correction has been improved for minor modifications (± 50 cents), while the analysis and melody detection functions now operate identically at 48 kHz and 44.1 kHz. In addition, navigation and operation have been optimized, file I/O expanded through the addition of new formats (including 32-bit AIFF) and both MTC synchronization and the support for AudioUnit, VST and ASIO improved.
The Update to Version 2.1 for Windows and Mac is free for registered Melodyne users and will be available for download from www.celemony.com from the 29th December onwards.
Melodyne was first presented at the NAMM show in January 2001 by the German firm Celemony Software GmbH. It is compatible with VST, AudioUnit, RTAS and DirectX plug-in interfaces or via Rewire.
Melodyne runs under Mac OS X and Windows XP and is currently offered in two versions: the Studio Edition offers an unlimited number of virtual tracks, 32-bit/192kHz support and stereo editing. The smaller cre8 offers the same sound quality, 8 tracks and audio quality up to a maximum of 24 bits and 48 kHz.
