Canopus To Ship ADVC-500 AD/DA Converter

Canopus yesterday announced its forthcoming ADVC-500 analog to digital/digital to analog video converter. The new model will features Canopus' DV codec and will support Macintosh and Windows systems. It's set to ship this month.

The ADVC-500 is a professional-level converter featuring component, composite, S-video and balanced and unbalanced audio input/output connections. It also features locked audio AD conversion for synchronization and comes with control software for adjusting analog input settings (such as brightness, contrast, etc.). ANd it can operate as a standalone device without the need for a computer.

The ADVC-500 comes in a 19-inch breakout-box configuration. It's expected to be available in mid-February for $1,499 for Macintosh and Windows. For more information, visit
