It boasts multiple shooting modes and connectivity options that make it highly versatile to complement DV-ready computers, televisions and VCRs for video editing, printing and sharing images in the family room, classroom, boardroom and over the Internet.

The size of a cell phone, the Canon Elura 20MC measures approximately two inches wide by four inches high. It weighs slightly more than one pound with a battery and tape. It records video and digital photos to the universal MiniDV digital videocassette. To manage, retrieve and download digital photos more efficiently, the Elura 20MC accepts the MultiMediaCard (MMC), an industry standard storage media, or a Secure Digital (SD) Card. -- Three shooting modes.

-- Firewire computer connectivity.

-- 10x optical/40x digital zoom, image stabilization.

The Canon Elura 10 will be available at about the same time for $1,299.
