Canon has shipped two new models in its line of microportable projectors. The new models, the LV-X2 and LV-S2, weighing in at 6.4 pounds, include an ultra wide-angle lens, optical box and 1.4x optical zoom. They're expected to be available next month.

The LV-X2 features XGA resolution (SXGA with compression) and 1,100 ANSI lumens. The LV-S2 features SVGA resolution (XGA with compression) and 1,000 ANSI lumens. They support input from component, S-video and composite sources and come with a wireless remote control and support for USB mouse control. Other features include:

  • Auto Grayscale, which optimizes the contrast and black level of the image;
  • Auto Fleshtone, which produces natural looking skin tones with reduced color noise;
  • High Contrast, Cinema and Gamma Adjustment presets, which can be defined and saved by the user;
  • Digital keystone correction up to 20 degrees;
  • 16x digital zoom.

Cables, case and lens cap are included with the projectors. They will sell for $4,499 for the LV-X2 and $3,499 for the LV-S2. For more information, visit
