Calif. winds dying but morning gusts possibleBlustery winds dying down in California but some morning gusts still possible
LOS ANGELES (AP) ' California winds that overturned trucks, toppled trees and fueled fires are dying down, but there's still a chance of some big gusts into the afternoon.
No wind-related major problems are reported Friday morning. But the National Weather Service says 25 to 45 mph winds with gusts to 65 mph are possible into the early afternoon in the mountains and valleys and at the coasts.
The morning weather remains chilly, and freeze warnings are in effect for much of Central California.
On Thursday, winds gusting to more than 70 mph overturned big-rigs and pushed fires in Ventura County and San Francisco.
The Ventura County fire is at 45 acres and 95 percent contained Friday morning. No homes are threatened.
