CRU-DataPort -- WiebeTech's New ToughTech(TM) Mini Pocket Drive Debuts on "24: Redemption" Season 7 Prequel(December 01, 2008)
VANCOUVER, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/01/08 -- The new ToughTech(TM) mini pocket drive from WiebeTech(TM), a brand of CRU-DataPort®, debuted in the 7th season prequel of "24: Redemption," starring Kiefer Sutherland and Robert Carlyle. The TV movie aired Sunday November 23, 2008 on Fox with rave reviews. Attached to a Mac Pro via FireWire, it showed the capabilities and efficiencies of the ToughTech mini pocket drive in this enthralling drama.
The ToughTech mini is small enough to fit in your pocket and connects to almost any computer. It is fast and accepts 2.5" Serial ATA drives, which works with the Oxford 924 chipset to ensure the fastest FireWire and USB speeds available. ToughTech XE mini provides dual FireWire 800 ports (backwards compatible to FireWire 400) and a combo eSATA/USB2 port. ToughMount(TM) strips are mounted between the drive and the enclosure to protect the drive from shock and reduce enclosure noise. It works out of the box without needing drivers with any modern operating system including: MAC OS X, Windows XP and Vista, as well as any Linux distribution supporting FireWire or USB.
Jon Johnson, the Executive Director of Marketing for CRU-DataPort, asserts, "Removable drives and small form factor external storage enclosures are ideal for secure 'Grab and Go' emergencies. Hard drives can be accessed quickly in the field for continuity of operations requirements." CRU-DataPort-WiebeTech will display the new ToughTech mini pocket drive in conjunction with several other removable and mobile data security solutions at the Department of Defense Cyber Crime conference in St. Louis, MO from January 26-30, 2009.
