CMS To Ship Bootable FireWire Backup Systems

New ABSplus coming in August By Dave Nagel
CMS Peripherals today announced a new, bootable version of its ABSplus FireWire backup systems. The new models will be able to boot directly into Mac OS X and should be available in August starting at $299, depending on drive capacity.

Aside from its OS X bootability, the ABSplus is a backup system that automatically launches into backup mode when connected to a Macintosh computer. It includes various options for automatic and custom backup settings. It also comes in a shock-resistant case for portability.

ABSplus is available in pocket-sized and larger-sized housings. Prices start at $299 for the 20 GB pocket-sized model and the 40 GB larger-sized model. Capacities range up to 160 GB. For more information, visit www.cmsproducts.com.
