CMS Ships Higher-Capacity Backup Systems

New ABSplus versions available in 200 GB, 250 GB configurations By Dave Nagel
CMS Peripherals today announced new versions of its ABSplus automatic backup system for Mac OS X and Mac OS 9. The systems incorporate hardware and software for backing up files automatically on the Mac. The new versions for desktop systems come configured with higher-capacity hard drives, including 200 GB and 250 GB models.

ABSplus uses automatic launcher technology to sense automatically when ABSplus hardware is connected to a Mac system. Incremental backups are automatically triggered whenever the device is attached. The devices can also be used to boot into Mac OS X with a single keystroke (holding down the Option key at startup).

ABSplus (FireWire or USB) is available in capacities ranging from 80 GB to 250 GB and start at $349. Pricing on the new models was not available at press time. For more information, visit
