CINEMA 4D FLAG 01The easiest flag of all: WIND DEFORMER
I've put together some still frames, but I realize that you can do this in 3 clicks. A movie does help to bring it all together. Below is today's version of the flag - - there may be 3 or 4 different 2 minute movies to cover here...
First you'll need a plane - - a simple primitive that you can get from the OBJECTS pull down menu, or from the list of primitives (under the blue cube icon).

Under the deformers (the generic looks like a partial arc (bend)), click and select the WIND deformer
Slide the deformer position over to the left hand edge of your plane and - you're done...
