CET Universe Unveils Constellation 5.6, Powerful New Version of Asset and Storage Management SystemSystem Offers Complete Integration with Avid and Final Cut Pro; Full Search, Retrieval, and Manipulation Without Touching Or (April 11, 2011)
CET Universe’s Constellation 5.6, which is available immediately, builds on the groundbreaking features of Constellation, which launched in March, 2009. Constellation is the first digital asset management system to leverage next-generation enterprise tiered storage techniques, including partial file restores from an archive, without the requirement of additional third-party systems. It is also the first system of its kind to include digital fingerprinting technology that creates an intelligent traveling asset.
Optimized for the Media & Entertainment industry, Constellation has been adopted by a wide range of customers, from large-scale video rights holders, commercial enterprise companies, government agencies and small production and post-production companies. The system’s flexibility and scalability enable any organization to conform their existing workflow to Constellation.
Constellation 5.6 is a complete integrated digital asset management solution that provides storage management, archive management, asset management and workflow automation for professional environments. The user interface offers full search, retrieval, and manipulation of video and project files, without the requirement to touch original digital master source content. The system offers complete, integrated file-based workflows for Avid, Final Cut Pro and others, as well as storyboard capabilities. A new EDL interface enables assembly of multiple clips for export from archive to any editing, storage or transcoding, or digital delivery system.
“The professional video industry has migrated to full-digital in a way that demands massively integrated storage and asset management systems, and Constellation is beginning to gain recognition as the next phase shift in efficient workflow for the tapeless professional,” said Steve Klein, CEO of CET Universe. “The value of Constellation lies in its flexibility and scalability, which catalyzes tapeless workflow for the most intensive video ingest, editing, and archival jobs imaginable.”
Constellation 5.6 will be integrated into CET’s hardware-based products, including: Andromeda Server (a plug-and-play digital asset management server appliance); Fusion Drive (which combines four removable hard drives; LTO-4 and LTO-5 in a single interface that runs off a laptop), and Archive Station (best practice on-set/near-set video capture system for file-based workflow).
Constellation has been used by major facilities and artists, including the likes of Universal Sports, David Fincher, and Northwestern Mutual.
