CET Universe Demonstrates New Tapeless Workflow at Hollywood Event

Co-Hosted By Avid & CET Universe Co-Sponsored with Isilon, AJA & Tandberg Data (June 09, 2011)
DMN Newswire--2011-6-9-- CET Universe, a leading provider of services, systems, and solutions for professional audio and video production, will demonstrate a new workflow for the professional video industry today at its 8th Annual Summer Technology Event, at the Beverly Garland Hotel, at 4222 Vineland Avenue in North Hollywood, California, from 12:00-7:30 pm. The event is co-hosted by Avid and CET Universe, and is co-sponsored with AJA, Isilon, and Tandberg Data.

At the event, titled “Powered by Tomorrow,” CET Universe will demonstrate the latest version of its Constellation VCM™  storage and archive management system, and Avid will  also demonstrate Media Composer 5.5. Demos will be held at 12:30 pm; 3:30 pm, and 6:30 pm. Cocktails will be served from 5:30-7:30 pm.

CET Universe will present the advantages of a digital file workflow that follows best practices for accepted tape-based workflow. Powered by CET’s Constellation, the process provides the answer for an off-line/on-line conform editing workflow for video professionals.

In the new CET digital workflow, productions can edit off-line and, using Constellation, conform to High Resolution clips automatically from second-tier hard disk storage, Optical Disc or LTO. Constellation's partial restore capability provides the High Resolution files with requested Time-In and TIme-out selects to the edit workstation or shared storage system, such as Avid Unity, ISIS and others. Constellation provides complete storage management of primary, secondary and deep archive and will even manage all off-line assets in a single facility or multiple facilities around the world.

“The advent of digital file acquisition and digital file workflow has brought many advantages to the production and post-production industry, but has created a lot of confusion and issues in post-production workflow when compared to the long-accepted videotape process. Now, we can empower our customers to embrace an all-digital post-production universe that follows a reliable tape-based workflow, just without the tape,” said Tony Cahill, chief engineer of CET Universe. ““The scalability and flexibility of Constellation is unparalleled and is the cohesive glue that connects all independent systems together and enables a facility to choose how much automation and how much manual control they need to complete their work.”
