CBC/Radio-Canada Purchases 22 Inscriber Systems

National public broadcaster chooses graphics playout system for regional branding (December 03, 2004)

Inscriber, a leading global provider of broadcast solutions, announced today that the CBC/Radio-Canada, Canadas national public broadcaster, has invested in 20 Standard Definition and two High Definition Inscriber Inca AutoCG graphic playout systems for CBC Television for all Network and Regional branding across Canada.

?As a national broadcaster with a presence in regions across the country we required an efficient, powerful and flexible graphics solution to address our varied branding needs, stated Fred Mattocks, Executive Director of Production and Resources for CBC Television. ?We need to trigger different branding elements such as crawls, bugs and animations on different areas on the screen for different regions of the country. The Inscriber Inca AutoCG systems have integrated seamlessly with the workflow of our automation system, and Inscribers powerful Strata option delivers the multi-layer graphics necessary for the advanced channel branding that we desired.

Inscriber Inca AutoCG is an innovative central graphics playout solution providing the combined functionality of a still store, character generator and clip player. The rich SD or HD output of the AutoCG systems operate under command of industry standard automation systems or MOS enabled environments. Inca AutoCG offers superior graphics capabilities, coordination and playout for template-intensive programming such as news, sports broadcasts or other live events.

?Inscriber is proud to have been chosen by an important national broadcaster like CBC/Radio-Canada, comments Wayne Weaver, Broadcast Sales for Inscriber. ?After months of strong competition, CBC/Radio-Canada purchased Inscriber Inca AutoCG systems to deliver increased graphics capabilities including the innovative ability for operator-based monitoring and control using Inscribers Direct Control application any place an IP connection is available.
