Buena Software Upgrades Au NaturelPopular plug-in for After Effects adds Time Lapse filter and more (October 18, 2004)
The Time Lapse filter blurs the footage temporally rather than spatially, producing streaks of lights where bright objects move through the frame quickly, and soft blurred areas where there is localized motion. And, like the other 6 tools included in Au Naturel, all processing happens in 32-bit per channel floating point linear RGB, producing the highest quality results. Unlike other plugins that operate on gamma-corrected video, Au Naturel produces results that look like they were actually filmed with the camera, rather than added afterwards.
Au Naturel also includes the following tools:
Adjust Exposure - allows you to increase or decrease the exposure of your footage in f-stops
Levels - changes the input or output white and black points in linear RGB, and even allows you to set them below the minimum or above the maximum values
Gaussian Blur - produces a blur that looks much more like a defocused lens than the host application's built-in blur
Directional Blur - produces motion blur that looks much more like real motion blur than the host application's built-in directional blur
Transform - scales, rotates, and skews your footage with extremely high quality
Composite - allows you to composite images in linear RGB, which is closer to how light actually works, and allows you to choose a different alpha channel for each color channel.
