Bright Systems Debuts New BrightDrive Data Management Suite at IBC 2006(September 07, 2006)
?The BrightDrive media sharing infrastructure has evolved into a mature, feature-rich and compelling solution for the global postproduction industry, said Antony Harris, CEO, Bright Systems, Inc. ?With the introduction of Data Management Suite version 3.0, BrightDrive offers unprecedented performance and reliability for all high performance media sharing DI and post applications.
Data Mover version 3.0 features a new graphical user interface that simplifies the movement of image files between BrightDrives shareable workspaces, and between BrightDrive and remote workstations with direct attached storage (DAS). Image files are moved at speeds up to 700MB per second. Version 3.0 includes enhanced image-aware technology designed to recognize the characteristics of image files, and manage them intelligently to provide optimal system integrity. Data Management Suite version 3.0 also includes enhanced bandwidth management technology, and a folder-watch function which automatically ?watches for new files rather than having to be initiated manually.
Data Optimizer version 3.0 identifies media within any data set, including single clips, and analyzes its physical characteristics. Images are re-laid out, if necessary, in the most logical and intelligent order for optimal playback.
All BrightDrive systems include Data Management Suite and secure, remote distributed system diagnostics to ensure reliable, consistent and uninterrupted system performance. BrightDrive products are fully scalable to meet all DI and post applications, and can be integrated easily with existing infrastructures. Bright Systems offers a simple migration path from video-centric workflow requiring minimum or no operator retraining.
Data Management Suite version 3 is available from Q4 2006 direct from Bright Systems and its international network of resellers.
