Bright Eradicates Performance Maintenance Downtime at Broadcast Asia 2009BrightDrive(tm) G2 Recording System with BrightClip Recording Technology Debuts in Asia (June 17, 2009)
DMN Newswire--2009-6-17--Bright Systems, Inc., developer of disk recording and data infrastructure technology, is debuting its next- generation BrightDrive(tm) G2 File-Based Recording System at Broadcast Asia 2009 [Hall 8, Booth M4-01 with Media Village]. The new system, which now incorporates Bright's widely acclaimed BrightClip Recording Technology, offers superior workflow efficiency and stability by eliminating performance maintenance downtime caused by data randomization.
The result of an intensive 3-year development program, BrightClip Recording Technology permanently overcomes the limitations of IT-oriented approaches to recording such as NAS and SAN where media files become naturally randomized during the course of normal production operations. This randomization causes erratic and degrading system performance, frequently bringing projects to a standstill and adversely affecting revenues and facility reputation.
"BrightDrive G2 with BrightClip is the world's first open-architecture file-based recording system designed specifically for the entertainment industry," said Antony Harris, CEO, Bright Systems, Inc. "Users will achieve performance stability levels that are simply not found in conventional IT recording systems. The new functionality will also allow creative talent to remain focused on the client experience and requirements while satisfying unprecedented operational efficiency and predictability."
BrightDrive G2 delivers unlimited streams of real-time film and video up to 4K resolution allowing teams of creative professionals to access, share and work on the same media files concurrently. This means that even with the most complex projects, facility managers no longer need to spend time copying files between applications or waiting for individual processes to be finished before media can proceed through the workflow. Users also gain significant business-level benefits including lower operating costs, by eliminating the need for localized storage and eradicating lengthy and unpredictable performance maintenance routines that would otherwise be required to maintain production-quality operations.
"Using BrightDrive as the heart of our data-centric workflow gives greater creative freedom, with instant access to scanned or imported material from all the creative workstations," said Sunita Petrus, owner, Tigertiger Post, Malaysia. "It is easy to use, reliable and enables our operators to work together in a very flexible environment."
BrightDrive G2 is compatible with all leading file-based media applications and file formats, and supports a wide variety of file-based workflows including commercials, animation, DI, dailies and VFX. Further efficiency gains are made with the BrightClip Accelerator API now supported by many of the industry's leading post applications from companies including Digital Film Technologies, Drastic, DVC, da Vinci, LaserGraphics, FilmLight, ARRI, Pandora, Cintel and Rave HD.
BrightDrive G2 is available immediately from The Media Village (Singapore) and Besco (South Korea), and also from Bright Systems' worldwide network of business partners. An easy upgrade path is also in place for existing BrightDrive customers.
