Briggs Nissan Announces that Nissan Releases Smartphone Apps for Electric Nissan LEAF(August 17, 2011)
Lawrence, KS (PRWEB) August 17, 2011
The sales team at Briggs Nissan Lawrence - the premiere Lawrence, KS Nissan dealership - are excited about all the great new technology from Nissan, but they are especially excited about the new Smartphone apps for the Nissan LEAF. Available for BlackBerry and Android phones, the app gives consumers control over their electric vehicle.
Following the mission of all other Nissan products, the new smartphone app provides bold and innovative technology for Nissan LEAF owners to manage and control many frequently used vehicle features directly from their smartphone. This has been available for a while on other vehicles, but it is becoming more common - especially with newer cars.
Nissan understands that telematics and other communication services are important for consumers, said Trisha Jung, director, Vehicle Connected Services, Nissan North America. By providing accessibility and functionality to the Nissan LEAF through all major smartphone platforms, we are truly delivering Innovation for All.
The application is available to anyone with a Nissan LEAF, an active CARWINGS subscription, or simply an interest in understanding the Nissan LEAF as a pioneering electric vehicle. With the new smartphone application, which has been available on the iPhone since the cars release in December 2010, users can access critical information points for their Nissan LEAF, such as charging, pre-cooling and heating, and monitoring the status of their vehicle.
Specifically, users of the app will be able to do the following:
Check the state of the battery charge
Check when battery charge is complete
See estimated driving range
Turn the climate control system on or off
The new smartphone apps are just further proof that Nissan knows what they are doing. When it comes to new technology, Nissan has always been a leader in the past and they continue to do so with apps like this. What does the future for Nissan hold? No one knows for sure, but one thing is for certain.
Local Kansas residents who want to learn more about the Nissan LEAF or any of the other great new models in the 2011 Nissan lineup are encouraged to stop by Briggs Nissan Lawrence - the leading Nissan dealer in Lawrence, KS and surrounding areas. Their sales team is standing by to answer any questions consumers have about the Nissan LEAF or the other great new Nissan models for 2011.
