HONOLULU (AP) ' Evacuated residents have been allowed back into their homes after boulders and rocks have tumbled down a hillside in Honolulu and damaged at least three houses.
Homeowner John Maemori says he's lucky to be alive after falling rocks totaled his home.
He was at home in Kalihi (cah-LEE'-hee) Thursday night when he heard rumbling and then narrowly got out of the way of a boulder.
No one was injured in the incident, but two homes are uninhabitable.
Fire Capt. Terry Seelig says the largest boulder is about three or four tons. About 12 homes were evacuated as crews assess whether other boulders could tumble.
