Boston Globe Names DataXu a "Top Place to Work"

Atmosphere of Innovation, Camaraderie and Collaboration Fosters Productivity and Success (November 07, 2011)

BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/07/11 -- DataXu (www.dataxu.com), provider of the only fully-integrated digital marketing management platform for the enterprise, today announced that it was named one of Boston Globe's 2011 Top Places to Work in Massachusetts.

DataXu has grown from a handful of employees to well over a hundred in just a year. With offices in Boston, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Detroit, and London, DataXu has accomplished an enviable feat -- retaining the spirit and dedication of a startup company while evolving rapidly into a large-scale technology corporation.

In addition to being ranked #13 out of 40 on the Boston Globe's Top Places to Work list in the small businesses category, DataXu was also ranked fifth in Advertising Age's 2011 "Best Places to Work in Marketing and Media" in August. With several major product launches this year, the company's focus on maintaining a vibrant, supportive work atmosphere has resulted in exceptional productivity.

"What makes DataXu a great place to work is the caliber of our employees," said Mike Baker, CEO of DataXu. "It is a remarkable experience to come to the office every day and be surrounded by a group of such incredibly talented people. When you gather more than 100 of the brightest minds in the business and enable them to closely collaborate, there's really no limit to what can be achieved."

Respect for diverse opinions and a willingness to talk through ideas and concepts permeates the company, with employees participating in "Innovation Days" twice a year to channel their passion into brainstorming with colleagues from different departments. DataXu employees come from all functional and personal backgrounds but share a common trait -- they're "athletes." Whether masters of a physical sport or an intellectual pursuit, every DataXu employee has excelled at a particular subject to which they've dedicated themselves, demonstrating superior performance, perseverance, and ambition.

DataXu is currently hiring for a variety of positions across its office locations. For more information on DataXu and its career opportunities, please visit http://www.dataxu.com/careers/.

About The Boston Globe's 2011 Top Places to Work
The Boston Globe engaged WorkplaceDynamics, specialists in employee engagement and retention, to survey employees at 237 participating companies, receiving completed surveys from 73,813 individuals. Each was asked to grade their organization's performance according to 24 distinct statements, ranging from "New ideas are encouraged at this company," to "It's easy to tell my boss the truth." In addition, all the employers were invited to complete a 12-question survey on workplace practices. To compile the ranking, each employer was measured according to six factors: Direction, execution, managers, career, conditions, and pay and benefits. All of the participating employers were placed into one of three size groups, based on the number of employees in Massachusetts, to account for the "small company effect" found in such surveys. Small workplaces were defined as those with 100 to 249 employees; midsize workplaces were defined as those with 250 to 999 employees; and large workplaces were those with 1,000 or more employees. All companies were then ranked within their size band.
