BlueStacks App Player for PC Announces Support for Windows XP(November 21, 2011)
Campbell, CA (PRWEB) November 21, 2011
BlueStacks has announced that its App Player for PC will now run on all Windows XP systems. Prior to now the software has only run on Windows 7 machines. A Mac version is expected next year.
"We have 135,000 fans on Facebook and they've been asking for this every day," said John Gargiulo, VP, Business Development and Marketing at the company. "Opening up our platform to millions more people around the world is something we're thrilled about."
While the majority of Windows users are on the Windows 7 OS, BlueStacks discovered that nearly 20% of Android users were on a Windows XP machine. The company quickly set about developing for the platform, culminating in the announcement today.
BlueStacks' App Player for Windows and Cloud Connect Android app both launched October 11, and over half a million people worldwide have downloaded the products. The company recently announced partnerships with OEMs Nyxio and Viewsonic, as well as a strategic investment from chipmaker AMD.
