Blue Coat Demonstrates Web Security Solutions at 2012 RSA ConferenceAppliance and Cloud Solutions Deliver Web Security to the Extended Enterprise (February 27, 2012)
SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/27/12 -- Blue Coat Systems, Inc., the technology leader in Web security and WAN optimization solutions, today announced that it is exhibiting February 27 - March 1, at the 2012 RSA Conference in San Francisco. At the conference, Blue Coat will showcase its Secure Web Gateway appliances and Blue Coat Cloud Service for extending Web security to branch office, remote and mobile employees. Blue Coat security experts will also provide insight into the new threat landscape through conference and booth presentations. Blue Coat, a Silver Sponsor of the premier security conference and Executive Security Action Forum Sponsor, is in booth 1841.
On Wednesday, Chris Larsen, Blue Coat's lead malware researcher and a top-rated RSA speaker, will present the findings from his latest research on search engine poisoning attacks. During his session, "Why Search Engine Poisoning is Still the #1 Attack Vector," Larsen will examine the search topics that most commonly lead to user infections and look at the reasons why search engine poisoning attacks continue to dominate the threat landscape. The presentation, session code HT1-204, will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in Room 102.
On Tuesday, Blue Coat senior malware researchers, Dr. Jon Dinerstein and Dr. Tim van der Horst will present a detailed look at the process behind finding, mapping and tracking malnets (malware networks), the distributed infrastructures within the Internet that are built, managed and maintained by cybercriminals for the purpose of launching a variety of attacks against unsuspecting users over extended periods of time. Blue Coat Security Labs expects these infrastructures to deliver two-thirds of all attacks in 2012. "Tracking and Visualizing Malnets" will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. in the Briefing Center Booth 2011 on the exhibit floor. This session is open to all RSA attendees.
In addition to the conference presentations, Blue Coat will provide free educational sessions in its booth throughout the conference. These short sessions will address the latest security trends, threats and best practices. Topics include:
- Understanding malnet infrastructures
- Mitigating data losses from social networking
- Advance Persistent Threats (APTs)
- An analysis of search engine poisoning attacks
- The mobile risk
- Key Findings from the Blue Coat 2012 Web Security Report
Blue Coat will also demonstrate how its Secure Web Gateway appliances and Blue Coat Cloud Service can help businesses safely enable social networking, identify and isolate infected end-user systems and leverage actionable intelligence on Web behavior to set more effective policies.
