BitHeadz Updates Unity

Version 3.2.2 adds Osmosis for Session users By Dave Nagel
BitHeadz has released an update its Unity line of audio software. The new 3.2.2 generation includes updates for Mac OS X Panther, as well as the inclusion of Osmosis for Session users. It's available now for Mac OS X.

The Unity 3.2.2 update offers enhancements for Mac OS X 10.3 and adds new MESH timing technology and a multi-timbral plugin (Audio Units for Digital Performer, RTAS and VST). For Unity Session users, it also includes Osmosis, a utility for converting Roland and Akai samples to the Unity DS-1 and Sample Cell formats. The utility reads Akai S1000 and S3000 and Roland 760/770 formats and offers the ability to convert an entire disk--Zip, Jaz, MO or CD-ROM--into Unity DS-1 or Sample Cell formats. It also supports fragmented Akai disks and disks with bad sectors and allows users to group select programs and samples for batch conversion. Osmosis was previously available for Mac OS 9.

The Unity 3.2.2 update is available now for Mac OS X for current users of Unity Session, Unity DS-1, Unity AS-1 and Unity Synth Expander. The full version of Unity Session runs $649. For more information, visit
